The Itachi Menso Super Fine (Menso Brush) is an extra-fine brush made from weasel hair. These brushes are highly regarded in the fields of ceramics, dyeing and other crafts.
The tip of the brush is soft but resilient, and is finished to a very fine point. It has the characteristic bending and strength of the weasel hair, which makes it possible to draw smoothly even with highly viscous paints such as glazes.
It is very useful for drawing fine designs and patterns, and enables delicate handwork. Can also be used as a maki-e brush.
Production takes place in Kumano, Hiroshima Prefecture, a town famous for its brushes, where they are made using techniques handed down over many years. Each brush is individually produced by craftsmen while respecting traditional Japanese culture.
